Would there be any effects if the vacuum line as well as the egr solenoid pictured here in blue were removed: >>>Possibly. You should at a minimum block off the plenum ends. Just cut off the pipes at the rear corners w/ a dremel, then cut the pipes again 1/2" at the plenum ends, then fill w/ JB Weld. You can do the JB Weld in the open rear corner pipes also. The actual EGR Valve unit as well as the tubes under the plenum will still be attached. >>>It is OK to disconnect the vac hoses and the connector since the pipes will be blocked off anyway. Will the EGR valve become a boost leak if the metal vacuum line is left open in the rear of the motor? >>>Not if you block off the plenum as stated above.
